Viva la Vida Ofrenda Workshop with Peter Marin

Join local artist Peter Marin for a special event to learn about what the Dia de Muertos celebration is, where it originated and how it has transformed over time. Peter is a Raleigh Medal of Arts recipient and has created multiple ofrenda installations here in Raleigh. Peter will discuss the traditions and customs surrounding this important cultural event, plus describing the essential elements and structures necessary to create an authentic ofrenda. He will also demonstrate the art of papel picado and lead a paper marigold flower making workshop made by you! Space is limited, registration required.
