Ukrainian Dance in the Library is a free cultural performance and interactive workshop at the East Regional Library in Knightdale. The Tsvitinnya Ukrainian Dance Ensemble will showcase traditional regional dances, explain the history behind their bright costumes, and invite the audience to participate in a short movement lesson. This program is best suited for preschool and elementary-aged children who can sit through a short performance and enjoy active participation. Admission is entirely free, and you do not need to register in advance. The library has a large, free parking lot directly in front of the building, and you do not need to bring any special gear, though comfortable shoes are recommended for the dancing portion. It makes a smart weekend outing because it combines physical activity with an educational cultural experience, all inside an air-conditioned space with clean restrooms and books to check out before you head home.
