STEAM Lab for 3rd-5th Graders: The Planets is a free, one-hour educational workshop at the Green Road Community Library that combines science and art to teach kids about our solar system. This program is tailored specifically for children in third, fourth, and fifth grades, meaning the activities are geared toward their developmental level rather than toddlers or teens. The event is completely free to attend, and all project materials are provided by the library. Parking is available in the shared lot directly in front of the Green Road Community Center and library building. It is an ideal Sunday afternoon activity because it keeps older elementary kids intellectually active without feeling like school. The library setting also makes it easy to check out books on astronomy afterward to keep their interest going at home.
