STEAM Lab - Dot Day! is a free, hands-on creative workshop where elementary school students learn about pointillism by painting with dots. Kids will explore how small dots of color blend together to create a larger image, drawing inspiration from the classic children's book, The Dot. This program is strictly for children in third through fifth grade. It takes place in the children's section of the Eva Perry Regional Library in Apex, which has a large, free parking lot directly in front of the building. You do not need to register ahead of time, but arriving ten minutes early is smart to secure a spot at the work tables before the 4:30 PM start time. This is an easy, low-stress Friday afternoon activity to transition your child from the school week into the weekend. It keeps their minds active with a mix of science and art, and you do not have to clean up the paint messes at your own kitchen table.
