Join us at the South Regional Library for some yummy smores - and while you snack, decorate your own sharpie mug to take home! Due to limited supplies, registration is required. Smores & Sharpie Mugs for Teens is a free after-school crafting workshop where local students can design custom drinkware while enjoying a classic sweet treat. The library staff provides the ceramic mugs, colorful permanent markers, and all the ingredients to assemble s'mores indoors. This program is designed specifically for students in grades 6 through 12. It takes place in the Children's Programming Room at the South Regional Library in Durham, which offers plenty of free parking in the main lot. While the event is entirely free, you must register your teenager in advance online because crafting supplies are limited. If your child has food allergies, you can email the teen librarian ahead of time to arrange safe ingredient alternatives. It is a great mid-week creative outlet that lets older kids socialize, work on a hands-on art project, and bring home a functional souvenir they will actually use for their morning hot cocoa.
