Sensory Stay and Play is a free, drop-in program at the Southeast Regional Library designed specifically for children with autism or sensory processing differences. The library sets up two distinct areas to accommodate different needs, featuring an active zone for hands-on exploration and a separate calm room for children who need a quiet, low-stimulation space. This Friday afternoon event is completely free and does not require registration. The Southeast Regional Library in Garner offers plenty of free parking right in front of the building, and the facility is highly accessible for strollers and wheelchairs. Because it is a drop-in program, you can arrive at any point during the 45-minute window and leave whenever your child has had enough. It makes an excellent weekend starter because it provides a structured yet flexible environment where your child can socialize without the pressure of a typical crowded play space. It is a gentle, welcoming way to transition into the weekend after a busy school week.
