Reading Time with Ms. Chloe is a free, one-on-one literacy support program held in the children's section of the Durham County Library. During these twenty-minute sessions, children can practice phonics, work on blending sounds, or read aloud from a book of their choice to build confidence. To secure a spot, you must register online in advance through the Durham County Library events calendar. The program is free of charge, and you can either bring a favorite book from home or let the instructor select titles suited to your child's current reading level. Parents must remain on the children's library floor for the duration of the session. This weekday afternoon program is an excellent opportunity to give your child targeted reading support without the cost of private tutoring. The library setting also makes it easy to turn the appointment into a weekly book-haul trip.
