The Shoo Fly quilt block is a historical pattern dating back to the mid 1800's and still used today in many traditional and modern quilts. While it is similar to a 9 Patch block, Half Square Triangles replace the solid squares in the 4 corners. Shoo Fly is another beginner friendly block that will level up your skills by learning how to sew and square up Half Square Triangles, an element used in many other quilt blocks and patterns. It's the perfect block to learn after attending our Quilting Level 1: Intro To Block Construction - 9 Patch class. Supplies Needed: 2 - 100% cotton or cotton blend non-stretch woven unwashed fat quarters (18" x 21" single layer of fabric) in two different colors. Any supplies purchased for class at Craft Habit will receive a 10% discount. Supplies Provided: Sewing machines, sewing tools, rulers, cutting mats, rotary cutters and thread to be used in class. Prerequisite: Sewing Level 1 at Craft Habit, or equivalent experience. Students must be comfortable setting up & threading a sewing machine
