Children ages 2-5 are invited to join Ms. Kristen and get creative! Process art is child-directed and embraces the process of creating, rather than the end result. This week, we will make our own leaves using coffee filters, markers, eyedroppers, and water. Registration is appreciated, but not required. Please dress for a mess. Preschool Process Art: Nature Art Spray Painting is a free, hands-on crafting workshop for young children hosted at the Southwest Regional Library in Durham. Led by library staff, this session guides children through making autumn leaves using coffee filters, markers, eyedroppers, and water. The focus is entirely on the sensory experience of creating rather than following strict instructions. This event is designed for children ages two to five and is completely free to attend. Registration is helpful for headcount purposes but is not mandatory to join the fun. Because process art involves water and markers, you should dress your child in clothes that can handle a few stains. The library has a dedicated children's programming room and offers plenty of free parking in the main lot. It is a smart weekday morning outing because it lets your child experiment with messy materials that you might not want to clean up at home. Plus, it is a easy way to connect with other local parents while your kids practice their fine motor skills.
