Pokémon Club is a monthly gathering at the Oberlin Regional Library where middle schoolers can play the trading card game, work on themed craft projects, and socialize. This free event is designed specifically for sixth through eighth graders, making it a rare find for the often-hard-to-please preteen crowd. The library provides the space and activities, and while your child can bring their own deck to play, beginners are welcome to come and learn the basics. Parking at the Oberlin branch is free in the dedicated surface lot, though it can get busy on weekday afternoons. It is an easy, low-pressure weekday activity that gets your middle schooler out of the house and off screens for an hour. Since it is hosted at the library, you can browse the shelves or grab a book nearby while your child participates.
