Playtime Pals is a weekly drop-in social hour for young children and their caregivers at the East Regional Library in Durham. The library staff sets out a variety of toys and learning materials in the children's programming room, creating an open space for kids to interact while adults chat. This free event is best suited for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers who are learning to socialize. You do not need to register in advance, so you can arrive and leave whenever fits your morning nap schedule. The library has a large, free parking lot, and you can easily pair the playtime with a trip to the children's book section to stock up on reading material for the week. While this takes place on a Thursday morning, it is a smart way to kick off an early weekend mindset.
