Morehead Planetarium & Science Center presents Astronaut is an educational dome show that explores the rigorous training and physical challenges real space travelers face. What to Know: This event is designed for children ages nine and older, making it a better fit for upper elementary and middle schoolers rather than toddlers. Admission is free, but you will want to arrive early to secure your seats in the planetarium. Parking is available in the paid lots along Franklin Street or at the nearby Rosemary Street decks, which are just a short walk from the venue. This is an excellent weekend option if you want to get your older kids out of the house for an hour of science-based learning without spending a dime. It pairs perfectly with a lunch walk down Franklin Street afterward.
