Join the Maker + STEAM Team in the 3rd floor Innovation Lab during specified open hours to make your own Pride Parade sign! Durham's Pride Parade is Saturday, Oct 3rd from 12-2pm around Duke's East Campus. We will have poster-making supplies out in the Innovation Lab for you to make your own sign to bring to the parade if you would like to show your pride and support of our community. This is a self-paced activity. You can drop in during the listed Open Lab Hours. Innovation Lab Open Hours: Monday: Closed Tuesday: 1pm - 5pm Wednesday: 3pm -7pm Thursday: 10am - 2pm Friday: 1pm - 5pm Saturday: 11am - 1pm and 3pm - 5pm Hours subject to change based on staffing and programming needs.

Make Your Own Pride Parade Sign is a drop-in crafting workshop hosted by the library's Maker and STEAM team in the Innovation Lab. Kids, teens, and parents can use the provided art supplies to design custom posters to carry during the local parade the following day. This self-paced activity is completely free and takes place on the third floor of the library. All materials are provided, so you do not need to bring anything with you. Parking is available in the library lot, and the space is stroller-friendly, though the crafting is best suited for preschool-aged children and older who can handle markers and scissors. It is a smart Friday afternoon stop because it keeps the creative mess out of your own kitchen. Plus, your kids will head into the weekend with a personalized accessory ready for the Saturday morning festivities.
