Liberty Arts is a sculpture studio, foundry, gallery and art space. It serves as an incubator in which artists learn from each other. Liberty Arts offers classes in welding, casting, stone-carving, woodworking, plasma-cutting and ceramics. They are especially known for their work in iron. Each year they hold a public iron pour in Durham Central Park. In addition they host many community events. Read on for two upcoming art shows that take place on October 16, 2026, during Durham's Third Friday event at Liberty Arts Studios, 918 Pearl Street, Durham, north Carolina. Glass & Fiber Art Exhibit Join Liberty Arts for a three person Glass & Fiber Art Exhibit in the studio facility. Admission is free. This exhibition showcases the incredible talents of flame workers Kaylee DeMay and Jon Richey, alongside Sinclair Lewis, a skilled fiber artist. The event also features drinks, snacks, live music and an active flame working demonstration by Jon Richey! 10th Anniversary Tile Show Enjoy an exhibition of 10 years of tiles! This November, Liberty Arts celebrates the 10th Anniversary of the Annual Iron Pour. They've hosted over a decade of scratch block workshops here in Durham, and they're incredibly proud of the Bull City’s endless creativity. This exhibition features iron, aluminum, and bronze tiles from 10 years of programming at Liberty Arts. Each tile has been created and submitted by a member of the community who has participated in a Liberty Arts scratch block workshop.
