Learn to Sew with Connecting with Threads

Learn to Sew with Connecting with Threads is a four-week class series at the South Regional Library in Durham designed to teach adults and older teens basic sewing machine skills. Led by the non-profit Connecting with Threads, the program helps participants build their knowledge to become independent sewers. If you want to attend, plan to go to all four Wednesday evening sessions on October 7, 14, 21, and 28 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM. The class is free and open to adults and older teens. You can bring your own sewing machine to use during the workshop, or you can use one of the machines provided at the library. Over the course of the month, you will learn how to mend your own clothing and household items while making practical pieces for your home. This program is a highly practical weekday addition to your schedule, offering a supportive environment to learn a valuable, hands-on life skill alongside other local beginners.
