Read, create, discover and explore through hands-on activities! This week: Ahoy, Hearties! In honor of International Talk Like a Pirate Day this week, we invite you to join us for a Pirate Palooza at the Library and explore what it's like to be a pirate searching for your treasure.
K-5th Adventures: Pirate Palooza is an interactive library program where elementary schoolers complete hands-on challenges to experience the life of a pirate. Kids will follow clues, search for hidden treasure, and complete themed crafts to celebrate International Talk Like a Pirate Day. This program is designed specifically for children in kindergarten through fifth grade and is entirely free to attend. The event takes place at the Oberlin Regional Library in Raleigh, which offers a dedicated parking lot, though spaces can fill up quickly on weekday afternoons. You do not need to bring any supplies, as the library provides all crafting materials. It is a reliable weekday afternoon option to help kids burn off energy after school. The structured activities keep younger students focused, while the treasure hunt theme appeals to older elementary kids who enjoy solving puzzles.
