K-2nd Adventures: Beautiful Hummingbirds is a free, one-hour educational craft program for early elementary students at the Northeast Regional Library in Raleigh. Children will explore the lives of these small birds and create their own window suncatchers to take home. This program is designed specifically for children in kindergarten through second grade, making it a perfect fit for five to eight-year-olds who can handle basic crafting tools. Registration is not required, but arriving fifteen minutes early is smart to secure a spot in the library's programming room. Parking at the Northeast Regional branch is free and plentiful in the main lot. It is a simple, low-stress way to break up the weekday routine with an educational activity that does not cost a dime. Your child gets to practice their fine motor skills with a seasonal craft, and you do not have to clean up the mess at your own kitchen table.
