There is no income requirement for the meals. The federal program is intended to fill the nutrition gap that can occur when school is not in session. We're listing a few different ways to find the free meal sites. Make sure to follow each link for all the information and the schedule for each site. Contact sites ahead of visiting to verify information like times and location. Summer Nutrition Program for Kids Summer Nutrition Program for Kids — North Carolina offers free meals to kids up to age 18 at sites across the state. Find meals here. You'll find a link to maps in English and Spanish. Enter the address you're looking for and adjust the range to find sites. Each site will list the days and hours it's open for free food. Wake County Summer Food Wake County Cooperative Extension supports its partners in establishing and enhancing summer food sites across the county. Though they do not directly manage or maintain any sites, they work hard to share the most up-to-date site lists and summer meal information with residents of Wake County.
