For September's scavenger hunt, we've hidden pictures of 10 cats throughout the children's area of the library (in honor of Happy Cat Month)... Can you find them all?! This scavenger hunt will run from Sept. 1st through Sept. 30th! If you have questions about accessibility, program stimulation levels, and/or need disability accommodations, please contact us at (919) 560-8592.
The Happy Cat Month Scavenger Hunt at Southwest Regional is a self-guided search-and-find activity where children search for ten hidden cat pictures throughout the library's dedicated kids' space. This activity is ideal for toddlers, preschoolers, and early elementary students who need a gentle, focused task while you browse for books. Because it runs all day, you can drop in whenever it fits your nap schedule. The library offers free parking in its adjacent lot, and you do not need to register in advance. If your child has sensory sensitivities or you need accessibility accommodations, you can call the branch ahead of time at 919-560-8592 to check on daily crowd levels. It makes an excellent weekend stop because it combines a free, indoor activity with your weekly book haul. It is easy to pair with a visit to a nearby Durham park, giving you a simple, budget-friendly outing that requires zero advance planning.
