For September's scavenger hunt, we've hidden pictures of 10 cats throughout the children's area of the library (in honor of Happy Cat Month)... Can you find them all?! This scavenger hunt will run from Sept. 1st through Sept. 30th! If you have questions about accessibility, program stimulation levels, and/or need disability accommodations, please contact us at (919) 560-8592.
The Happy Cat Month Scavenger Hunt at Southwest Regional is a month-long, self-guided search game for children located in the library's dedicated kids' section. Visitors can drop in anytime during operating hours to search for ten hidden cat pictures tucked away among the bookshelves. This activity is best suited for toddlers, preschoolers, and early elementary students who enjoy a visual challenge. Participation is entirely free, and no registration is required. The library offers plenty of free on-site parking, and you can easily pair the hunt with your weekly book haul. If your child has sensory sensitivities, you can call the branch ahead of time to ask about current crowd levels. It makes an excellent weekend stop because it is highly flexible. You can move at your own pace, there is no pressure to arrive at a specific start time, and it provides a quiet, indoor option to get kids moving and focused.
