For September's scavenger hunt, we've hidden pictures of 10 cats throughout the children's area of the library (in honor of Happy Cat Month)... Can you find them all?! This scavenger hunt will run from Sept. 1st through Sept. 30th! If you have questions about accessibility, program stimulation levels, and/or need disability accommodations, please contact us at (919) 560-8592.
The Happy Cat Month Scavenger Hunt at Southwest Regional is a free, self-paced search game hidden throughout the children's section of the library. Kids can explore the bookshelves and play areas to track down ten hidden feline pictures. This activity is best suited for toddlers, preschoolers, and early elementary students who enjoy a visual challenge. Because it runs all day, you can arrive whenever fits your nap schedule. Parking at the Southwest Regional branch is free and plentiful, and you do not need to register in advance. If your child needs sensory accommodations, you can call the branch ahead of time to check on daily crowd levels. It makes an excellent weekend stop because it easily pairs with your weekly book haul. You can let the kids burn off some quiet energy searching for the pictures, grab a few new bedtime stories, and be back home in under an hour.
