Families can explore the garden, cook and try new foods. When little hands prepare food, they learn kitchen science and math, are more likely to try new things and make connections to where our food comes from. Apple Crumble: It’s apple season! Chop and peel apples to create a cinnamon, appl–icious treat.
Garden Gourmet: Apple Crumble is a hands-on cooking and gardening activity for children at Marbles Kids Museum. During this session, kids will peel and chop fresh apples to create a seasonal cinnamon dessert. This activity is included with your regular museum admission, so there is no extra fee to participate. By preparing the food themselves, children get to explore the garden, learn basic kitchen science, and connect with the origins of their food. This event is a great addition to your Thursday afternoon plans because it combines active play in the museum with a practical, tasty life skill.
