For Friday's Sake is a weekly autumn concert series featuring live music and local food trucks on the patio at For Garden's Sake in Durham. Running Friday evenings from September 11 through October 16, 2026, this event offers a casual outdoor space where parents can unwind and children can move around freely. Admission to the garden center grounds is free, though you will want to bring money for the food trucks. The venue is highly accommodating for toddlers and elementary-aged children who need space to roam while parents listen to the music. Bringing your own folding lawn chairs or a picnic blanket is highly recommended to guarantee a comfortable spot on the grass. This event makes an excellent weekend starter because it bridges the gap between parent relaxation and kid energy. You can skip cooking dinner, let the kids play in a safe environment, and enjoy the cooler September evening air without the stress of a formal restaurant setting.
