The Drum Circle at Dix Park is a free, interactive community music event where participants of all ages gather to play percussion instruments together. If you plan to go, head to the lawn by the Stone Houses Visitor Center. You do not need to bring your own instrument, as organizers provide drums and shakers for everyone to share, though you are welcome to bring your own. The event is entirely outdoors, so pack lawn chairs or a picnic blanket to keep your toddlers comfortable on the grass. Parking is available in the gravel lot directly adjacent to the visitor center. This gathering makes a great Friday evening stop because it requires zero musical background and allows kids to make as much noise as they want in an open, welcoming space before bedtime.
