Discovery Drop-In & Storytime is a weekly outdoor program featuring nature-themed books and self-guided crafts at Duke Gardens. Located in the Charlotte Brody Discovery Garden, the event offers two separate reading sessions at 10:30 AM and 11:30 AM in the designated Story Circle, with activity stations set up nearby on the picnic tables. This drop-in program is ideal for toddlers and preschoolers who enjoy being outdoors. While admission to the event is free and does not require pre-registration, you will need to pay for parking at the Duke Gardens lot, which costs two dollars per hour. The garden paths are stroller-friendly, but packing a blanket for lawn seating is a smart move if the story circle fills up. It is a low-pressure way to introduce young children to the gardens. Because you can arrive and leave at any point during the two-hour window, it easily fits around morning nap schedules.
