Celebrate Navratri, an Indian festival especially beloved in Gujarati culture, through art and movement in this hands-on craft + dance workshop! Participants will decorate their own pair of dandiya (decorated wooden sticks used in Raas dance) using colorful fabrics, ribbon, mirror trim, tassels, and other embellishments, and use their dandiya to learn beginner-friendly Raas moves along with a few Garba steps as well. No previous dance experience is needed, and everyone will leave with a finished pair of dandiya they made themselves, plus a tote bag to carry them in and enjoy throughout the Navratri season this fall and for years to come!
