Cuentos en Español is a monthly Spanish-language storytime featuring interactive songs and read-aloud books for young children. Miss Patty leads the group through gentle, repetitive language patterns that help kids absorb vocabulary naturally. This free program takes place in the dedicated children's programming room at the Main Library in downtown Durham. It is best suited for toddlers and preschoolers, though all ages are welcome. You do not need to register in advance, and parking is available in the library lot. Starting your week with a library visit is an easy way to ease out of the weekend. The downtown branch has excellent play spaces, so you can easily stay after the stories to explore the shelves and let your kids play.
