Crafting is more fun with friends! Come on by to make some art and new friends after hours at the Museum. Bring in any craft project you’re working on or create something fresh with provided art supplies. Each month we have a different suggested theme connected to our galleries and some artistic inspiration to bring back home. Grab refreshments at the Café, kick back, and meet some fellow crafters.
Craft Night at the North Carolina Museum of Art is a monthly social gathering where adults can work on art projects together after hours. Held in the museum's main building, the event provides a relaxed space to start a new project using supplied materials or finish a craft you have already started at home. This gathering is designed for adults and teens rather than young children, making it an ideal option for a parents' night out. Admission is free, and you do not need to register in advance. Parking is plentiful and free in the museum lots, and the on-site café is open for purchasing drinks and snacks while you work. It is a low-pressure way to carve out some creative time for yourself, meet other local makers, and see the galleries in a quieter, evening setting.
You can bring any portable craft project you are currently working on, but the museum also provides free basic art supplies based on a monthly theme if you prefer to start something new there.
Is there a fee for parking or admission?
No, both admission to the craft night and parking in the main museum lots are completely free.
