The Chapel Hill Really, Really Free Market is a community gathering where neighbors share goods, skills, and food with one another at no cost. It is a completely non-monetary exchange designed to keep usable items out of landfills and support local households. If you plan to attend, bring gently used books, toys, or clothing that your children have outgrown, and feel free to browse the items others have brought. The event takes place on the paved green space at Southern Village, which is stroller-friendly and easy to navigate. Remember that you must take back any of your unclaimed items when the event ends at 1:00 PM. This market makes a smart weekend stop because it teaches children about sharing and reuse in a direct, hands-on way. It is an easy, low-pressure outing where you can declutter your playrooms and perhaps find a few new-to-you books for bedtime reading.
