The first annual Chapel Hill Biscuit Festival will take place October 24–25 and will feature a special children’s biscuit baking class at SECU Family House at UNC Hospitals. Designed for children ages 8–12, this hands-on experience will give young bakers the chance to learn, create, and have fun while making their own biscuits. Each participant will leave with biscuit mix, a chef’s apron, and a goodie bag to take home. Space is limited to just 50 participants, so early registration is encouraged. 100% of the event fee benefits SECU Family House. The class will take place on Saturday, October 24, 2026 A 2-hour hands-on baking experience featuring: Savory Southern Biscuits – Learn the basics while making a classic Southern biscuit. Sweet Drop Biscuits – Try your hand at a simple, delicious drop biscuit. Take-Home Pantry Mix – Pack your own biscuit mix to recreate the experience at home. Biscuit Bar – Enjoy freshly baked biscuits with local honey, molasses, and jams. Box to Go – Head home with fresh biscuits and a beautiful mason jar filled with your take-home pantry mix.
