Celebrate Fuquay-Varina Thursday Concert is a free outdoor music event that kicks off the town's annual autumn festival. The evening features a live performance by the popular beach music band Liquid Pleasure, turning the downtown street into a community block party. For the easiest evening, pack folding lawn chairs or a heavy blanket to claim a spot on the pavement. While the concert is open to all ages, toddlers and elementary schoolers will particularly enjoy the open space to run around and dance to the music. Street parking is available throughout downtown Varina, but you should plan to arrive twenty minutes early to find a spot close to the stage. This event makes a great Thursday night outing because it gets everyone outdoors after school and work without breaking the budget. It is a low-stress way to ease into the weekend, grab dinner from a local downtown spot, and let the kids burn off their remaining energy before bedtime.
