Blue Sky Crying is the brainchild of Justin Abood, lead guitarist, singer and songwriter. Justin started singing with his Dad at age 5 and started playing guitar at 14. BSC is the final combination of all of the above between practice, friends, shows, lessons, etc. Rounding out the Trio we have John Bass on Bass as a freelance player in the Raleigh area focusing on Jazz/funk/R&B/Rock along with this current project. Jeff Crouse on the Kit has been playing drums and percussion in the area for over 35 years now. He has his masters from the University of Miami in Studio Jazz drumming. Their unique jazz feel combined with Justin's raw grit writing with guitar work is a winning combination not to be missed. “Reverend Sam” so nicknamed in the blues community for various reasons known at home as Sam Stephens. Moved to North Carolina in 1980 from California where he performed around the San Diego area with the Bliss Brothers. Relocated to the Triangle to form “Nightwatch”, a progressive rock band in the genre of Styx and Kansas. The band spent the next three years touring up and down the east coast opening for various acts such as Head East, Cheap Trick, Uriah Heep, Johnny Van Zant band and Danny Joe Brown (Molly Hatchet). After leaving Nightwatch, played in many local bands before forming The Swamp Doctors with Daniel Anderson and E Train Manning. Performed with this blues band for nine years including a trip to Memphis to compete in the IBC.
