What is Bad Art Club? Join Bad Art Club once per month on a Saturday afternoon for a day of artmaking! BAC is a meetup for new artists, non-artists, and those that love to create. We focus on the creative process of making art and are open to all skill levels. All supplies provided. For ages 10+.
Bad Art Club is a monthly Saturday afternoon meetup at the ArtsCenter in Carrboro designed for beginners and experienced creators to make art without the pressure of perfection. This specific session focuses on teaching basic embroidery techniques to help participants design and stitch their own personal fabric totems. It is a supportive space where the focus is entirely on the process of making rather than the final product. Before you register, keep in mind that this workshop is designed for ages 10 and up, making it a great fit for middle schoolers and teens who want to try a new craft. The registration fee is $30, which covers all the necessary embroidery hoops, needles, and threads. This workshop makes an excellent weekend outing because it offers a structured, creative outlet for older kids during those tricky tween and teen years. It is a rare opportunity for them to learn a tactile, screen-free skill alongside other local makers in a completely judgment-free environment.
