Swing by Artspace each month to view new exhibitions, enjoy a hands-on art activity, and shop with our 30+ studio artists. First Friday is celebrated on the first Friday of each month throughout Downtown Raleigh to showcase the best of our city’s creative community. One of the founding organizations behind First Friday, Artspace opens its doors until 10pm every First Friday.
Artspace First Fridays is a monthly community open house where downtown Raleigh's largest creative hub stays open late with hands-on activities and gallery tours. Visitors can wander through three floors of active studios, talk directly with painters, sculptors, and jewelers, and watch live demonstrations. If you are bringing kids, aim for the earlier hours between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM before the crowds peak. The building is stroller-friendly with wide hallways and elevator access, and the hands-on craft station is usually simple enough for elementary-aged children. This event makes a great Friday evening stop before grabbing dinner nearby. It offers a casual, low-pressure environment where children can interact with real artists and see how a working studio operates.
