Art Cart 2026 - Thursdays is a free, drop-in outdoor crafting program for children held at the Downtown Cary Park Academy Pavilion. What to Know: This weekly afternoon activity is completely free and requires no pre-registration, making it easy to fit between nap times or school pick-ups. The park staff provides all the necessary art supplies, featuring both structured craft projects and open-ended materials for independent creating. The Academy Pavilion offers some shade, but you will want to bring sunscreen, water bottles, and perhaps a change of clothes if your little ones tend to get messy with paint or glue. This is an ideal weekday outing because it combines a structured, mess-free creative activity for the kids with a trip to one of the area's best play spaces, allowing you to easily transition from crafting to playground time.
