Apex Community Dance is a casual, all-ages social dance featuring live music and traditional American and English folk dances. Local callers lead the crowd through simple square dances, English country dances, and New England contra dances. Every single dance is taught and walked through beforehand, so you do not need any prior dance experience to participate. This event takes place at the Halle Cultural Arts Center in historic downtown Apex from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Tickets are incredibly budget-friendly at just two dollars per person plus tax, but you must purchase them directly through the Halle or Etix to ensure they are valid. This is a fantastic weekend option because it gets everyone moving and laughing together without the pressure of a formal class. It is a low-cost, high-energy way to spend a Friday evening, and you can easily grab dinner at a downtown Apex restaurant before the music starts.
No experience is necessary. A local caller walks participants through the steps of every dance before the music starts, making it easy for beginners and children to follow along.
How much are tickets and where can I buy them?
Tickets are two dollars per person plus tax. To avoid scams, purchase them directly from the Halle Cultural Arts Center or through Etix, as the venue does not accept tickets from third-party sellers.
Is there a minimum age requirement for the dance?
There is no age limit. The event is open to all ages and abilities, though children who can follow basic instructions will get the most out of the group dances.
