Join us to make time for playing in nature. Children of all ages, as well as the young at heart, are welcome to join us for nature inspired imaginative play. We’ll provide the materials and guidance to get you started on a playful adventure.
No registration is required. Drop in any time between 10am and 12pm to join the fun!

Annie Louise Wilkerson Nature Preserve's Take A Child Outside Week: Nature Play Day is a free, drop-in outdoor recreation event where kids can use natural materials for imaginative play. Staff members provide the loose parts and basic guidance, leaving the rest up to your child's creativity. This event is ideal for toddlers through early elementary ages who enjoy building, digging, and exploring. There is no cost to attend, registration is not required, and you can arrive anytime during the two-hour window. Park in the main gravel lot at the preserve and head toward the park office to find the setup. Be sure to dress your kids in clothes and shoes that can get muddy, and bring water bottles since you will be fully outdoors. It makes a wonderful Friday morning outing because it offers a structured destination without the pressure of a strict start time. You can let the kids burn off energy along the park's easy trails after they finish playing.
