Absinthe was made illegal around the world in the early 1900’s due to the greatest coordinated smear job in spirits history. To this day, people still think that Absinthe can cause hallucinations, murderous tendencies, and even death. Fortunately for us, one of these things is true! Absinthe played an important role in cocktail history, and we are happy to do our part to revive the tradition. During this class, we will demonstrate the traditional process of making an Absinthe Drip with a real glass fountain we purchased from a Wiccan. We will discuss the fascinating history of Absinthe, where things went wrong, and how its relatively recent re-introduction became possible. Together we will make three classic cocktails that utilize the green fairy. This month's skill-building class will take place at Little Gem on Tuesday, October 20, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Space is limited to 16 seats, so be sure to reserve yours today! Tickets are available at $75 (includes plated snacks from Beau Catering, three cocktails, and recipe cards for each cocktail so you can make them at home). Hope to see you there!
