The 1,000 Book Bash is a free community celebration at the Cary Regional Library designed to recognize early reading milestones for young children. Whether your child is just starting their reading journey or has already completed the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program, this event honors their progress with structured activities. What to Know: This event is best suited for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers. It is entirely free to attend, and no registration is required. The library is located in downtown Cary, right next to the downtown park, which features a free parking deck within easy walking distance. You do not need to bring any proof of your reading log to participate in the crafts or bubble playtime. This is an easy, low-stress weekend outing because it combines structured library time with outdoor play. Since the library sits adjacent to the downtown park, you can easily transition to the playground or grab a coffee nearby once the hour-long event wraps up.
