Want to make a meaningful impact on your local environment? Join the Town of Apex and SWANEC (Southern Wake Area Native Ecosystem Conservation group) for an invasive species removal day at Apex Community Park! Volunteers will help manually remove invasive species- such as Japanese stiltgrass, English ivy, and Japanese honeysuckle - from the wooded area near the lake trail entrance. No herbicides will be used; all removal will be done by hand (e.g., pulling vines, digging out roots). Gloves and tools (clippers and shears) will be provided, though you’re welcome to bring your own if you prefer.
